☕️ + 🍸 = Us: How We Ended Up Here
When we first opened our doors, things were much simpler.
Just coffee, a few gluten-free muffins and empanadas we proudly outsourced because let's be honest we had our hands full learning the ropes. The space was small, the menu was modest, but the dream was already there.
Growing Pains (and Joys)
About a year and a half later, we did something wild: we knocked down the wall into the vacant spot next door. Suddenly, our cozy corner grew into something bigger: more seating, more wall plugs (because we know how much laptops love them), and the big milestone: our liquor license. At the same time, we were busy with another adventure: expanding into a bakery off-site. That's where buttery croissants and a variety of sweet pastries started to join the lineup. (That story deserves its own blog post... trust us, it's a good one.)
Building Layers (Like a Good Latte)
The growth didn't stop there. We tucked a tiny kitchen inside the coffeeshop, separate from the bakery, so we could serve breakfast and lunch right here. Suddenly, the space wasn't just about grabbing a quick drink: it was a place to linger, to meet, to share a breakfast croissant sandwich. And then came evenings. Staying open later on Fridays and Saturdays meant we could pour cocktails, host bigger gatherings, and create memories beyond the morning rush. From baby showers, to local networking events and Happy Hours (huge shoutout to the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber for choosing our space as a gathering spot!), to run club/coffee raves (yes, that was a thing - and yes, it was amazing) - we've loved seeing our shop transform into more than we ever imagined.
The Things We've Learned (So Far)
Growth is messy, but beautiful. (Much like mastering baking)
Space creates connection. The bigger we got, the more stories found a home here.
Community makes it all worth it. At first, we thought we were just opening a coffeeshop. Now, it feels more like we're tending to a living, breathing part of our community. Thank you for being on this journey with us. We can't wait to show you what's next.
